8 months and CRAWLING!

Zeke has been crawling for a while now- but now he has PERFECTED it. Unfortunately, it is typically a b-line to the dogs' food and water bowls but we are workin on that. He pulls up on EVERYTHING! His favorites are the ottoman and the patio door so he can look outside. So cute!!!

Zeke turned 7 months on friday! On wednesday, he sat by himself for the first time- now he is a pro and we can't keep him laying down. Needless to say nap time is no longer for naps but for playing! Sunday he even crawled half way across our living room rug for a bottle! We also noticed sunday that not one but BOTH his bottom front teeth finally broke through after weeks of teething pain. Pretty soon Zeke will be crawling, the walking, then RUNNING! I have a feeling life just got much busier! Josh and I are so excited!

...and we are just introducing you to him. Sorry. Ezekiel "Zeke" Abram Law was born on November 18th at 12:48am coming in at 7lbs 11 oz and a hearty 19" tall. Josh and I couldn't be more in love with him if we tried. Here he is on the way home from the hospital (5 days old).

We are 37 weeks (full term) tomorrow so I thought I would post some much overdue pics of the belly and the nursery. We have a few things to hang on the wall and place on the dresser but other than that we are done!!! We kept it pretty simple but I really LOVE the elephant theme... so cute!!! Enjoy!

We are out of the hospital and doing much better. Last week was a bit scary. We went to the dr. Wednesday because I wasn't feeling well all week and got sent to the hospital because I was having contractions. By the time 5pm rolled around, they were only 30 seconds apart and they had tried 2 meds to slow them down and nothing was working. After the 4th type of med, 2 shots of steroids to help Zeke's lungs get stronger and 3rd day in the hospital, they were able to slow them down but were still worried about early labor. Finally by Sunday my body started slowing things down and we were able to go home. Needless to say after all the poking, prodding and lack of showering- I was glad to go home. This week has been so much better but neither Josh nor myself think we will make it to Nov. 20th- our goal... 4 weeks from this past Thursday so we will see. Here are some up to date pics since my belly has exploded in the past few weeks. Enjoy!!!

Remodel Series: Master Bathroom

Bathroom when Josh moved in...

Nasty flooring in the room(taken after we painted the walls)... look at the stains, they used the wrong glue and with the humidity it seeped through the laminate and made it look like there were some "accidents"...eww!

We replaced the flooring with tile and the vanity/ mirror with dark, beautiful wood! I love love love it!

Remodel Series: Master Bedroom

This was our bedroom when Josh first bought the house. We knew when we bought it that we would have to replace ALL the flooring the house, little did we know it would take 2 whole years but boy was it worth it!

This is what it looks like now... still a work in progress furniture wise- but a huge change!

25 weeks and counting. Sadie felt left out- typical for her since she is an attention hog... but I thought it was cute all the same.We start Lamaze this week!! Crazy to think this time has flown by so quickly! Only 15 weeks to go... if that!!!!

Once I get our "before" pictures scanned in, I will be posting some before/ after house remodel... get pumped!

Its a BOY!!!!!

So this past Friday, we had our long awaited ultrasound to find out what we were having. I knew that I wanted a boy name and a girl name picked out before we found out just so we could call it by its name from now on... so when we found out we were having a boy, Ezekiel "Zeke" Abram Law was named. I think Zeke really loves his name- he is moving much more these days and even let Josh feel him kick yesterday!!! Usually, Josh just sees or feels him pushing- he loves that too... making mommys belly look and feel deformed! I will tell you, I much prefer the constant moving and pushing over no moving and pushing... lets me know he is ok- call me crazy/ a gluten for slight pain but its totally worth it!!! Here are some pics from our big day. We are in Asheville for the week enjoying the amazing food and sights when Josh isn't in meetings for Coatings stuff.

Hopefully Josh and I will think to take some belly pics soon... I just started to show for reals this past week! Its a crazy feeling/ sight to feel and see a baby miracle growing in me!!! Josh and I just did our registries this past weekend and I think we pretty much added everything we will ever need/want- could not begin to tell you how hard making a registry is while you don't have a clue what you will actually need... we just went from a checklist from one of the stores- so we will see!

Don't know if you can tell... but I am super excited to meet my little man- we are almost half way through- so much left to do but I just get so excited about meeting Zeke and hanging out with him everyday, teaching him the ropes about life and watching him grow in God's love!!! How amazing is that just to think about!!!

Ok... enough rambling for now before I get emotional!!!

So I don't think anyone reads this anyways but if you do- sorry. It has been too long! Josh and I have a lot going on right now. The BIG news is that we are Preg-o!!!! Little Baby Law is due Nov.20th. We will find out in 2 weeks what we are having and hopefully also get some ultrasound pics to post. I still have the pictures from the last visit but no scanner= no pictures. I will try and find a scanner to use between now and then so that we can share them on here! I will try and start post much more often now since we have to keep you up on the baby news- we will see how it goes!!!

New Business

Josh and I have made the leap toward starting our own business... hence the absence from the blog. It will be a craft business where I will hand make things for various categories. Veils, shawls, bridesmaids gifts, etc. for brides; diaper bags, spit up towels, bibs, blankets, etc. for baby, dog beds, outfits, collars and leashes for dogs and eventually a Filigree Mom category where I make stationary, invites, key chains, koozies, purses, wallets, makeup bags etc. That being said- if you have an idea of something you think lots of people would be intrested in- please leave a comment!!!!

It has been way too long since my last post- but in all fairness, I wanted to post pictures of the completed craft that I mentioned in the previous post and was afraid that the recipient may be a reader... so without further ado- The baby shower craft-gifts part I:

That's right! A diaper bag and matching burping cloths as well as a changing pad!!! All in all I think they turned out pretty well. Slight flaws in the bag, but probably only things I will ever notice so yea.

I also just got home from a quick trip to Baltimore. When I say quick I mean it- I got there around noon and flew out at 10 the next morning. Here was my view:

So as I mentioned yesterday, Josh is away working the Robinson outage from 12 noon to 12 am... well when I came in this morning, these pictures were waiting for me. He even thinks about me doing walk downs of stuff!! yay!!!

For the past week, the hubs has been in Hartsville, SC working the Robinson Power Plant outage as part of his Shared Resources duties for Progress Energy. He constantly amazes me with how talented and smart he is- I mean, really- NUCLEAR engineering!!! I am truly blessed to have him as my husband and thank God every day he said Yes. However, with him gone, that means I am left to spend my evenings by myself in the middle of nowhere- scared of every sound I hear (fears only encouraged by Dezi barking at the same noises) and just remembering how safe I feel when he is around. God has an intresting way of reminding me of the little things Josh does as husband and protector in our marriage.

Anyways- last week, I kept myself busy by painting the laundry room to prepare it for the forced hook up to city water ( we got a Summons from the court- court fees and all, no notice mind you- just straight to business). That took two go arounds because the first paint treatment wasnt mixed enough by the people at everyone's fav. home improvement store and the tops of my perfectly blue walls were a completely different from the bottoms. I love fading color treatments, but good geez, not on my walls!!!Then I painted the guest bathroom finally- before it was a mess- seafoam green walls with a pale grey violet peony shower curtain- a huge no no in an Interior Designer's home- I mean really!!! Anyways, after all that was done I repainted all the trim work and gave the entire home a clean sweep. Josh came home and was in awe at our newly "flipped" house as he called it- seeing as how it hadnt been that clean in way way too long. Well- that is all done and I am feeling very acomplished, but that means this week I get to do something completely different.

A couple in our small group is due to have a baby in December and I have decided that this is the perfect oppertunity to put my craftiness to use- it has been starved of attention for way too long. This morning, I designed patterns for an awesome diaper bag, pacifier holder, some booties, a bib, a few onesies ( complete with a "Christmas Reindeer Spud"on one of them- they dont want anyone to know their precious baby girl's name until she is born so they refer to her as Spud... something we love to play off of in small group) as well as a few other small crafts borrowed from Martha- needless to say, I am STOKED to see how they turn out and cant wait to post pictures of the progress!!!

A wedding, a honeymoon, and some hurricanes

So as you all know... Josh and I are finally married!! It was the perfect day for both of us and were blessed with amazing weather- not to mention the amazing friends that endured the heat to watch us! As my morning of prep began, I was handed a small slip of paper that read "the reasons I love you..." and of course instantly began crying. That slip was soon followed by about 100 other slips, each with its own reason on why he loved me.

If that wasnt sweet enough, I arrived at our wedding location to find 28 roses (1 for each month we had been together) with a note that read " I know you dont like roses but I had to pick a flower that would stand out from the rest.There are 28 roses in this bouquet, representing each month we had been together. Each petal on each rose represents just a few of the months we have to come being spent as husband and wife..."( more sweetness followed that I will spare you from)- needless to say I married a romatic!

As the day continued, I married my best friend, got to see several friends I haven't see in years and I felt as if we were right back where we left off. We couldnt have asked for a better wedding party either! I love my girls... they are amazing, compassionate women who blessed me in so many ways on my big day! Here comes my favorite- the end, the exit, you know your car will be destroyed, but I could have never imagined finding what I did...

Thats right, friends- That is my pops on top of our getaway car, riding a seahorse that they had tied to my roof rack and having the time of his life. Josh and I laughed so hard when we first saw him, and crazy as it sounds, have decided that this was our absolute favorite ( or at least my favorite) part of our wedding... well that and Gumps dancing with his doll- that man can move!!!

Alas, I would love to share honeymoon pictures with you, but I can't. You see, after 30 mins. in a van on the way to the airport after the most beautiful week ever in Mexico and dredding meeting up with Gustov over the Gulf, I distracted myself by looking at all the options my camera had. An option came up and I wanted to return to the main menu- bad idea! It formatted my memory stick and ERASED all of our precious pictures. Only me, thats all I can say. Apparently, as tech savy as I claim to be, I made a big mess! Luckily Josh wasn't upset, instead, he thinks we have created the perfect reason to go back!

Please pray for us during these Hurricanes coming... Josh and I are about 15 mins. from Oak Island ( the NC jut out that all these Hurricanes are supposed to smack around) and while he is not on call tonight, he is on call for Ike- which means, if it changes course and heads for NC like it once was predicted to do- he has to report to work while myself a few other of the wifes get together and brave the storm and pray for our husbands that will be working about 7 miles if not less from the actual coast. At least we will be together, but it is a real concern. We would also ask you to keep in your prayers those whom have already been affected by the recent storms.

Its back to work for me... I am leaving early to make the 45 min. drive home ( * I have to drive toward the storm to get home- exciting right?)

I know its been forever since I have written but its not like anyone reads this anyways. I started my first job Monday and it is definitely different than what I expected- but I love it. I work as a CAD technician for a playground design company and boy did I underestimate everything that goes into that. I am learning a lot and picking up quickly ( I think). I have to remind them occasionally that I am not an Engineer, though I did hail from the beautiful NCSU and Meredith- its just not in me- but that's OK, I think they are determined to prove me wrong.

Anyways, Josh and I have 4 days left to complete everything we need to get done in time for Saturday all while praying like fiends that it doesn't rain. Fay needs to go home, her mom called- its dinnertime somewhere else, ANYWHERE else ( is that bad?)! I had an amazing time with several of my bridesmaids this weekend and by the looks of Josh's new shotgun, he did too. Hopefully the couples massage the FH planned ( yes I picked him from a catalog of prince charmings, i know- Penny's was having a special I guess? haha) for Thursday will take enough tension away for me to relax and enjoy the long awaited day... AHHH I am going to have a different last name in 4 days!

This week has been Beach Week 2008 with the Laws and what a blast its been. Tonight we played cranium and the future father in law had to act out gravity using no words- classic. You gotta love face book for constantly reminding me how little time I have to get so much done. Josh and I finally got our marriage license yesterday and it was completely surreal! All they needed was our ID and thats it... the joys of living and getting married in a beach town- its a totally different, laid back, formality free world.
We are finally feeling like ourselves after getting food poisoning at a wedding shower a few weeks ago and I finished my last class of college Wednesday so now its on to endless thank you notes, returns to dozens of places and figuring out programs, centerpieces, deejay playlist, etc. Hopefully these 4 weeks will go quickly and we can get everything done we need to. Sadly, Josh and I have come to the point where- even if everything isnt done, as long as we sign the marriage license and have our witnesses- we will be married, I will be Mrs. Law and we WILL live happily ever after... YAY!!!!
